East Texas: Lindale Candy Co.
Located in downtown Lindale, Lindale Candy Company is an old-fashioned candy shop that isn’t just a place to buy sweets — it’s an experience where you can watch traditional candy-making techniques come to life.
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are the perfect days to stop by because you can watch the candy-making process through a large wall of windows overlooking the production area. Who doesn’t love getting a front-row seat to see how the candy is actually made?!
Lindale Candy Co and their candy making days have been on my radar for a while - I actually went to school with Jeremie so I’ve seen their social media posts for years, however, this summer is the longest visit I’ve had to East Texas in almost a decade and I was determined to make my way over.
Jeremie did a fantastic job of bringing the process to life. As he pulled and shaped the candy, he shared interesting tidbits about the history behind the company, the sweets, and what goes into creating these handmade treats.
In fact, he let us know that they’re one of only few candy companies left in the States that still pulls ribbon candy by hand! That’s pretty cool and to be able to watch the candy transform from a warm, pliable mixture into the finished product was fascinating - although I probably enjoyed it more than my kids did.
My girls and I happened to show up on a day that a local camp was visiting for a walkthrough of the candy-making room and production areas. Since we were there at the right time, we were able to tag along through the candy making room and the chocolate room, where they make Kaitlin’s Confections.
While watching the candy being made is what drew us here, we couldn’t leave without exploring the shop. Lindale Candy Company is best known for its traditional handmade sweets, but you'll also find an impressive selection of handcrafted chocolates from Kaitlin's Confections.
There were Texas shaped and themed chocolates, different varieties of fudge, chocolate dipped Oreos’ and so many more that we all know and love. I ended up with a chunk of fudge and a cherry chunk that was so delicious, I could’ve eaten 4 more.
The shop has that classic small-town candy store feeling where you can slow down, browse, and enjoy something that feels a little different from a typical stop at a chain store. Besides their own homemade candies, they also sell other brands.
You’ll find everything here, from nostalgic favorites like old-school candy cigarettes to the fun of making your own Pucker Powder candy stick. The shop also has a huge selection of themed candies, with options for sports fans, Texas lovers, and back-to-school treats, just to name a few. There’s something to catch the eye of just about every sweet tooth!
And the candy selection is just the beginning. You can also pick up Lindale Candy Company merchandise, dog treats, and even pickle-flavored just about anything. During our summer visit, the seasonal treats included ocean-themed Rice Krispies, Biscoff starfish, and colorful unicorn treats.
And if you’re visiting with kids, don’t miss the giant gumball machine! With so many unique and unexpected treats throughout the store, part of the fun is simply seeing what you’ll discover next.
Whether you’re a local looking for a fun activity or you’re passing through East Texas, Lindale Candy Company is worth adding to your itinerary. The candy is delicious, but the real treat is getting to watch the process. It’s a fun stop for families, candy lovers, and anyone who enjoys supporting unique local businesses.
