East Texas: Lace Tribe Head Spa
For my birthday this year, my sister booked me an hour-long appointment at Lace Tribe Head Spa in Whitehouse, Texas. It wasn't the first time she'd gifted this experience, either - she's also booked appointments for other people, including our mom. On top of that, my friend Lindsay had already been and couldn't stop talking about how relaxing it was.
With that many rave reviews from people I trust, I walked into my appointment with pretty high expectations.
Supporting a Whitehouse Local
The owner, Kimberly Browne, is a Whitehouse local, born and bred. She was a year ahead of me in school, and while we weren't close friends, growing up in a small town meant we'd see each other around.
After spending an hour in Kimberly's care, it's obvious she's found her calling. Her passion, her knowledge and her excitement shined through in every part of the experience.
More Than Just a Hair Wash
From the moment I walked inside, it was easy to relax. The spa is peaceful, beautifully decorated, and designed to help you disconnect from the stress of everyday life. Soft lighting, calming music, and a quiet atmosphere immediately put me at ease.
Before Kimberly began washing my hair, she used a microscopic camera to visually analyze my scalp and hair follicles. This reveals hidden issues like buildup, dryness, or inflammation so she knew how to customize the process for MY scalp.
One thing I didn't expect was just how immersive the experience would be. This isn't simply someone shampooing your hair and giving you a quick scalp massage. This was like hanging out with your bestie while she carefully explained each step as she worked - why she was massaging certain areas of my scalp, when she was applying nourishing serums, and how each part of the treatment benefits both your scalp and your hair.
She talked me through each step of the process and it made the entire experience feel incredibly intentional and highlighted the expertise behind every technique. (If you don’t want to know about anything happening, she’ll let you sleep right through it.)
While Kimberly was working on my scalp, my body was being massaged in every spot imaginable thanks to her massaging chair. Before I knew it, the hour was over even though I wasn't ready for it to end.
When the treatment was finished, my scalp felt refreshed, my hair was noticeably softer, and I walked out feeling lighter than when I arrived.
The Perfect Gift
Now I understand why my sister keeps giving this experience as a gift.
Whether you're celebrating a birthday, Mother's Day, Christmas, an anniversary, or simply want to surprise someone who deserves a little pampering, Lace Tribe Head Spa is one of those gifts that creates a memory instead of just adding another item to a shelf.
It's also the perfect excuse to treat yourself. There are also plenty of options, from half an hour to 90 minutes, to work with your schedule.
Now, you don't have to travel to Dallas or Houston for a luxury Japanese head spa experience - it's right here in Whitehouse and you can book online at Lace Tribe Head Spa!
Final Thoughts
I love supporting local businesses, especially when they're owned by people who grew up in the same community I did. But I also believe that local businesses should earn their recommendations. I wouldn't tell you to visit a place just because it's local.
Kimberly has created an experience that's genuinely worth seeking out. Her knowledge, attention to detail, calming presence, and obvious passion for what she does make this so much more than a relaxing scalp massage, it's an hour dedicated to slowing down, recharging, and taking care of yourself.
Supporting a fellow Whitehouse local is simply the icing on the cake.
If you've been thinking about trying a Japanese head spa - or you're looking for a gift that's both thoughtful and memorable - I can't recommend Lace Tribe Head Spa enough.
