Ship Review: Celebrity Infinity

Ship Review: Celebrity Infinity

From embarkation to disembarkation, Celebrity Infinity delivered a cruise experience I would happily repeat. As one of Celebrity Cruises’ smaller ships, it offers a calmer atmosphere, excellent dining, and a layout that never feels overwhelming, making it an appealing option for families with older kids and travelers who prefer quality over crowds.

As a family that cruises regularly, across multiple cruise lines, we’re quick to notice what works - and what doesn’t - on every ship we sail.

First Impressions

The Celebrity Infinity ship docked in Barcelona, Spain.

Celebrity Infinity is one of the smaller ships we’ve sailed on, but I was impressed by how thoughtfully laid out the space felt. Nearly every seating area doubled as a bar, each with its own design and vibe, and several featured stages for live musicians. There was no shortage of indoor public space for sitting, relaxing, and socializing, something I truly appreciate.

Prime Verdanda Stateroom

Our Prime Verandah room on the Celebrity Infinity turned down for bedtime

This time - unlike previous cruises - we didn’t upgrade our cabin and stuck with the Prime Veranda Stateroom we originally booked. I’ll be honest: it is the smallest cabin we’ve had so far and you felt that. In addition to the bed, the room included a single couch bed and a fold-down bunk. When the couch bed was extended, it took up nearly every centimeter of available floor space, and I would have preferred a bit more breathing room.

Did this affect our overall cruise? No.
Would I upgrade next time to a slightly more spacious cabin, like the one my in-laws had with a double couch? Absolutely.

One thing that stood out was how the vertical space didn’t feel fully utilized. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but it felt like there was wasted potential, possibly due to the lack of tall cabinets or shelving. That said, one major win: the closet had more hangers than I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship. Five stars just for that.

Sticking with storage, this cabin also had the least (accessible?) amount of storage of any ship we’ve sailed. We typically store large suitcases under the bed and repack clean and dirty laundry as we go, but even with the couch bed folded up, pulling out a suitcase on that side of the bed was difficult. In fact, the coffee table that sits in front of the couch lived on the balcony for the duration of our stay. The desk storage was limited to lower cabinets only.

All that to say: for a family of four, this room felt tight. There was nothing inherently wrong with it, and it didn’t detract from our overall experience but next time, I’d book Ultra Deluxe or Concierge Class at minimum.

Dining & Drinks

The sushi restaurant / bar onboard the Celebrity Infinity

The dining on this cruise truly can’t be beat. From the main dining room to the impressive buffet, my only real complaint was the lack of a dedicated kids’ buffet section. My kids didn’t starve though, they happily lived off pizza, pasta, the breakfast bar, and the ice cream station.

Unless things have changed, I remember past cruises in Mexico and Central America offering regionally themed menus tied to the port of the day. I hadn’t seen that recently in Southeast Asia or Europe, so finding it on this cruise was a delightful surprise.

The humus station on board the Celebrity Infinity - I beelined here during lunch each day.

"Hey, how come people don't have dip for dinner? Why is it only a snack, why can't it be a meal, you know?" — Oliver Putnam, Only Murders in the Building (London and I are obsessed with this show - check it out if you haven’t already!!)

One standout I have to mention: the daily humus station. Basil, cilantro, red pepper, spicy, avocado, beet - there were even more varieties than I can remember. I bee-lined straight there every lunch. Paired with chicken, vegetables, and fresh naan, it became my go-to lunch.

The Trellis dining room menu one night on the Celebrity Infinity

Another unusual (and welcome) feature: the onboard coffee shop offered already-included snacks, regardless of what drink package you had. Fruit tarts, slices of cake, and cookies rotated regularly, something that’s often an extra charge on other ships.

That said…the coffee itself? Average at best. Someone please explain to me why cruise ships still can’t figure out good coffee, especially when you’re paying extra for it. Even the cappuccino was mid. Negative stars for charged coffee.

Our little family in the Trellis dining room on the Celebrity Infinity

My in-laws have cruised with Celebrity before, and leading up to this sailing they repeatedly mentioned how consistently good the food always is. If great food is a must-have for you, you truly won’t have anything to complain about here. 10/10

Service & Crew

The service aboard Celebrity Infinity truly deserves its own shout-out.

London and Millie with their long-lost brother, Johnson.

Our dinner servers went above and beyond every single night. They never once forgot Millie’s BOWL of ketchup, and managed to make sure both girls received one scoop of every ice cream flavor — complete with sprinkles, cherries, and waffle cone slices. None of that is listed on the menu, which made it feel extra special and completely over the top in the best way.

Millie and London also quickly bonded with one of our servers, Johnson, whom they decided was their “long-lost brother” thanks to sharing our last name. By the end of the cruise, they were genuinely excited to see everyone each evening, which says a lot about the warmth and personality of the crew.

This is also part of what makes cruising such a great vacation for kids. Having the same dinner servers each night creates familiarity and routine - something that can be incredibly grounding for children while traveling. Knowing who will greet them, remember their preferences, and joke with them at dinner helps our girls feel comfortable and confident onboard, turning meals into something they looked forward to rather than another transition.

Beyond the dining room, service across the ship was outstanding. Our stateroom attendants regularly greeted us by name, remembered our routines, and even took time to play arts and crafts with the girls in their grandparents’ room. From housekeeping to dining to everyday interactions around the ship, the crew made us feel known, remembered, and genuinely cared for.

Shopping Onboard

Shopping the designer handbag resale onboard the Celebrity Infinity

One detail I genuinely appreciated about Celebrity Infinity was the onboard shopping selection. In addition to the usual cruise line merchandise and duty-free staples, the ship featured a What Goes Around boutique—a New York–based luxury designer resale shop.

Having access to authenticated pre-owned designer pieces felt like an elevated touch and a refreshing alternative to the standard logo-heavy cruise gear. It was nice to browse something unique while at sea, especially as someone who enjoys shopping secondhand and appreciates sustainability-minded brands.

For cruisers who like to shop but want options beyond branded souvenirs, this was a standout feature and something I’ve only seen on one other ship - the Holland America Westerdam. A few other things we loved while shopping was the wildlife tracking bracelets by Fahlo that I’ve seen all over social media. From their website: “Each purchase unlocks a real animal's path on an interactive 3D map, with exciting reveals, epic journeys, and a global impact on vital conservation efforts.” Each of us chose a different animal and continue to track them on their app! Millie also spotted this flamenco dress while in Madrid and mentioned she wanted it, so we were able to purchase that on board as well.

Entertainment & Activities

Stormy nighttime view of the pool on board the Celebrity Infinity

There are no water slides on Celebrity Infinity, but there are four outdoor hot tubs, two outdoor pools, and one indoor large spa-style pool with two additional hot tubs.

Family time in one of the hot tubs on the Celebrity Infinity

The indoor solarium pool offered family hours from 5:00–7:00 pm, which I wish were adjusted. That’s prime dinner time, and kids’ club restarted at 7:00 pm, making it a bit inconvenient for families.

The entrance to Camp At Sea, the kids club on board the Celebrity Infinity

The STEM-based Camp at Sea program was a huge hit with my girls. Separated by age groups, they rarely even saw each other but both had a blast and made new friends. Kids ages 10+ can sign themselves in and out, which gave London a lot of independence and flexibility in the evenings. Camp hours ran 9:00 am–noon, 2:00–5:00 pm, and 7:00–10:00 pm, even on port days.

If you’re cruising with kids for the first time, or deciding whether a smaller ship like Celebrity Infinity is the right fit, these tips for cruising with kids can help set expectations and make the experience smoother.

Mixology 101 class on the Celebrity Infinity

Additional activities included fee-based alcohol tastings (wine, whiskey, martinis), nightly shows like Cher, and live musicians performing throughout the ship. Arts and crafts - such as paracord keychain making - were also offered, typically on port days, along with several Bingo games.

The outdoor movie theater on the Celebrity Infinity

One feature we loved was the outdoor movie screen, which played movies twice daily. The setup felt intentionally cozy, with couches, ottomans, and plenty of extra warm blankets - perfect for the cool weather and breezy days on board the ship. When movies weren’t playing, this area cleared out and it was a nice spot for quiet, outdoor time.

The sports court on the Celebrity Infinity

The movie screen was set back from the sports court, where basketball hoops and soccer goals were available and where pickleball games were almost always in full swing. It created a nice balance between high-energy activity and relaxed entertainment in the same area.

Who Celebrity Infinity Is Best For

Loved how this marble staircase looked when lit up from within.

Celebrity Infinity is a great fit for travelers who value excellent dining, live music, and a relaxed onboard atmosphere over nonstop thrills.

This ship is especially well-suited for:

  • Families with older kids (8–10+)

  • Travelers who prefer smaller ships and fewer crowds

  • Cruisers who prioritize food and service

This ship may not be ideal for:

  • Families with toddlers or young kids looking for water slides or splash areas

  • Travelers who want high-energy nightlife or mega-ship attractions

  • Families needing maximum cabin space without upgrading categories

If you’re deciding between ships, it may help to compare Celebrity Infinity to other cruise ships we’ve sailed. Norwegian Epic is a much larger ship with water slides, more onboard attractions, and a higher-energy atmosphere—better suited for families who want constant activity. By contrast, the Holland America Westerdam offers a very similar experience to Celebrity Infinity, with a calmer vibe, destination-focused itineraries, and an emphasis on dining and live music. Travelers who enjoy ships like Holland America Westerdam will feel right at home on Celebrity Infinity, while those who loved the nonstop energy of Norwegian Epic may prefer a larger ship.

Would We Sail Celebrity Infinity Again?

Sunrise in Tenerife from the pool deck on the Celebrity Infinity

Yes— but next time we’d upgrade to a larger cabin category. The food alone makes this ship worth considering, and the relaxed atmosphere, live entertainment, and thoughtful layout made for an enjoyable cruise experience.

If you’re looking for a ship with excellent dining and a family-friendly vibe, Celebrity Infinity delivers. It’s not a thrill-ride ship, but it doesn’t try to be.

Booking Tips

View of Tenerife from the pool deck on the Celebrity Infinity

Like always, we booked our Celebrity cruise through the American Express Travel portal for the added perks - most notably $100 onboard credit per adult, which is an easy win for specialty dining, drinks, spa treatments or pre-booking excursions. Yep! You can use the onboard credit before your cruise for any cruise related activities!

One important tip when booking any cruise: only pay the initial deposit.

As you get closer to your embarkation date, cruise prices can fluctuate. If the price drops and you haven’t fully paid off your cruise, you can call and request a price adjustment to the lower fare. This has worked for us multiple times and is one of the easiest ways to save money without changing your itinerary or cabin.

Once final payment is made, price adjustments typically aren’t possible so waiting to pay in full gives you flexibility if prices drop. This can be done through the cruise line directly, American Express (or other credit card related travel portals) AND through your travel agent.

This cruise ship review reflects our firsthand experience sailing Celebrity Infinity in December 2025 and was last updated in 2026.
